www.komment.hu – the new [origo] opinion site – was launched in December 2008. Its purpose is to provide room for constructive collective opinion formation: interesting and substantial, thus valuable discussion.

The site provides an easy to use interface for its registered users, where they can formulate and publicly share their thoughts concerning the topics discussed in the articles published on the site. In order to keep bad tempers and demagoguery off, comments are screened by administrators.

Our company developed the software processing embedded comments, which is suitable for completing contents created with Origo’s editorial system with an interactive interface. We implemented itusing the ruby on rails framework. The runtime environment, however, is JRuby, so the application complies with the customer’s strict technological requirements. This system is our second reference work – the first being the iWiW Developer Portal – in which, by employing the Ruby language in a Java environment, we demonstrated that drawing upon the potentials of this programming language, framework and related methodologies is well justified in enterprise environments.
